Administrators Wrap-up

A brief synopsis of items covered at the most recent Board of Education meeting by district leadership


Superintendent Crowley:

The overgrown shrubs located in the circle at the elementary school have been removed.
We have three bus drivers starting.
This year’s prom was wonderful, the kids were great & there were no issues.

Principal Marvin:

Prom was fabulous and the students represented DCS well.
Schenectady Co. Sheriff’s Dept. hosted our students on Friday & Monday with presentations on distracted & drunk driving; the kids were respectful.
Upcoming events include: NHS induction, awards ceremony, music concert & graduation.
Maureen Rynish has been holding Sunday review classes which are well attended, a lot of other teachers are doing review classes as well.
HS summer staff will be out of the building for the summer, located at the elementary school.

Principal Conover:

These enrichment projects are the best; many thanks to Lori Galea.
4th grade will do another project with coins & planes.

Athletic Director Hardenstine:

Data committee member, Maria Molyneaux broke down the NWEA data to see where our strengths & weaknesses are. She did a fabulous job and has been a great asset. We have been focusing on Math ti improve scores.
In June, due to the Capital project the HS teachers will have 1 day PBIS training with Joe Otter. On the second day the math department will work with with Teresa Billington using the data to create lesson plans, RtI plans, & develop progress monitoring methods. The remaining faculty will work with Donna Lamkin and Denise Pallozzi on Higher Order Questions and thinking skills. This is still in the planning stages.
Principal Marvin has been in contact with an individual from the National Guard regarding a project adventure type course for staff on Monday, 6/26
