Community input sought at June 7 superintendent search meetings

June 2, 2017

The Duanesburg Central School District Board of Education is seeking to fill the position of superintendent and invites local residents to participate in a Community Meeting on June 7 at either 3:30 or 6:30 p.m. in Joe Bena Hall in the high school. Each meeting will last about an hour.

The board wants to hear from all members of the community, including students, parents, guardians, local residents, faculty and staff about what they are looking for in a new superintendent and what they feel are the district’s strengths and areas needing improvement.

DCS Superintendent Christine Crowley, who has led the district since 2007, has announced that she will retire at the end of 2017. The DCS Board of Education is working with the Capital Region BOCES to conduct the search for a new superintendent. Meetings with district faculty and staff and the community are part of that search process. No RSVPs are necessary.

The board hopes to have a new superintendent in place by late fall for a Jan. 1, 2018 start date. Visit the superintendent search page for a timeline and a link to an online survey.
