Save the dates for open houses, parent conferences
Sept. 13, 2016
Parents and guardians are encouraged to become involved in school activities to help give their children a good start. Early in the school year, open houses and parent-teacher conferences offer valuable opportunities for parents, guardians and family members to become acquainted with their children’s school, faculty and staff, and ways to become active partners in their children’s education.
Open houses also inform parents/guardians about what their children will study and what will be expected of them during the school year. Open house is the time to ask big-picture questions—save questions and concerns about a child’s performance for parent-teacher conferences.
Duanesburg Elementary will hold an open house for students in kindergarten through 6th grade on Thursday, Sept. 15 at 6 p.m.
Duanesburg Jr./Sr. High School will hold an open house for students in 7th through 12th grade on Thursday, Sept. 22 at 6 p.m. READ LETTER FROM PRINCIPAL
Held later in the fall, parent conferences are private meetings between a child’s parent/guardian and teacher. Conferences will be held at each school on Thursday, Nov. 17, from 6 to 8:30 p.m. and during the school day on Friday, Nov. 18. Students do not have school on Friday, Nov. 18.
