Teresa Wood-Irvin is seeking her first term on the board. She lives in Duanesburg with her family and son Niko. She earned a bachelor’s degree in secondary education at the University at Albany, master’s degree in Spanish at Middlebury College, and is a certified K-12 Spanish teacher. An educator for 21 years, Wood-Irvin teaches Spanish at Guilderland High School and has also taught at the University at Albany. She is active in the community as recording secretary of the Duanesburg Community PTA; Alliance advisor, cultural fair chair and new teacher mentor program representative at Guilderland High School; and past board member of GLSEN.
