New gym scores a new floor
Jan. 26, 2017
The new Duanesburg Elementary gym is really taking shape, with recent additions including a new electronic scoreboard and installation of the floor.
The gym floor will float, that is it is built to provide proper cushioning and 'give' needed for safe and healthy instruction and practice. It is comprised of three layers of wood, including a base layer with rubber shock absorbers, with underlying ventilation. The top layer of the modern flooring system is maple.
The gym addition is part of a multi-year repair, renovation and construction project, which addresses concerns voiced by community members and will make DCS schools safer, healthier and better suited to today's learners.
