Please mark your calendars for the important upcoming dates and deadlines listed below, ahead of the district’s annual Budget Vote and Board of Education Elections on TUESDAY, MAY 20, which will take place from 1 p.m.- 9 p.m. at Duanesburg Elementary School.
BOARD OF EDUCATION ELECTION: In addition to voting on the District’s budget for the 2025-2026 school year on May 20, the community will also vote to fill two seats on the Board of Education. Interested in running for the Board? Nominating petitions are currently available from the District Clerk and must be returned by April 21 (5 p.m.) with a minimum of 25 community signatures. In order to obtain a petition, candidates must first visit the central office building to have their eligibility confirmed by the District Clerk. ABSENTEE & EARLY VOTING: If you are unable to vote in person on May 20, you can request an application to vote early or by absentee ballot. Applications for both methods of voting, and additional information can be found on the Voting Info page of the DCS website: https://www.duanesburg.org/board-of-education/voting-info/

Budget Vote & BOE Elections Timeline:
Monday, April 21, 2025: Deadline to return BOE nominating petitions with signatures (Central Office, 5 p.m.); Absentee ballot and early voting ballot APPLICATIONS are available online and at the Central Office.
Wednesday, April 23, 2025 (6:30 p.m.): BOE meeting; Board votes to adopt the budget.
Tuesday, May 6, 2025 (6:30 p.m.): BOE meeting; Public Budget Hearing (public presentation of proposed adopted budget)
Thursday, May 15, 2025 (6:30 p.m.): “Meet the Candidates” Night, sponsored by DCPTA
Monday, May 19, 2025: Last day that absentee & early mail ballots may be picked up at District Clerk’s office
Tuesday, May 20, 2025: Annual Budget Vote & Board of Education Election (1 p.m.- 9 p.m. at Duanesburg Elementary School); Early Release for PK-12
