Duanesburg elementary students across grade levels made valentines this week for state Sen. Michelle Hinchey’s senior citizen card drive. The valentines will be given to nursing home residents across the 46th Senate District. DES was proud to participate in this important initiative to connect community members across generations.
“We discussed the importance of kindness to our seniors and shut-ins during this trying time,” third grade teacher Nancy Lyons said of her class. “We also read a beautiful book called ‘Sombody Loves You Mr. Hatch’ to go along with the lesson of showing kindness and compassion to others.”
