Duanesburg Jr. High school 8th grade student Ava Pagano has been selected as the recipient of this year’s Daughters of the American Revolution Award through the Schenectada Chapter.
“Ava flourishes in the social studies classroom by engaging in critical-thinking and thoughtful reflection of our nation’s history,” said Lisa Dennison, Duanesburg High School social studies teacher. “She finds and analyzes the important connections and themes that have existed throughout time.
“Ava is a fan of the history-based Broadway production, ‘Hamilton,’ and has participated in many theatre productions. As an 8th grader, she observed the Mock Trial team since she is eager to participate in the club as a high school student,” Dennison added.
“Ava is also involved in art club, GSA, jazz band, archery and volleyball. As an avid ‘Jeopardy!’ fan, Ava uses this trivia knowledge as a valuable member of Duanesburg’s Varsity MasterMinds team.”
Congratulations Ava!
