There has been a lot of excitement from the community about Monday’s Roundtable Discussions taking place from 6:30-8:00 p.m. on Monday, March 24, 2025 in Joe Bena Hall at Duanesburg Jr.-Sr. High School.
Four important topics will be discussed during the community-wide event:
– Middle School model (6th grade moving to the Jr.-Sr. HS)
– NYSED’s “Portrait of a Graduate” model (new graduation requirements)
– Cell phones & other personal electronic devices in school
– Updating DCS Code of Conduct
Upon sign-ins, participants will choose two of the four topics that are of most interest to them and will be given session assignments on a first-come, first-served basis.
Each roundtable discussion will be led by one administrator and one BOE member, with the opportunity for healthy discussion and an exchange of ideas. Notes will be taken on each topic for each session and will be distributed to the community.
All community members are welcome, including faculty/staff, students, families, and other stakeholders. The district’s goal in hosting this event is to hear feedback from our community on these important topics, and use that feedback to help shape the future of our district.
