DCS Hosts Community Roundtable Discussions March 24, 2025

Join the conversation and help shape the future of DCS!

The Duanesburg Central School District would like to invite all stakeholders to join district administrators and members of the Board of Education from
6:30-8:00 p.m. on Monday, March 24, 2025 for an evening of Interactive Community Roundtable Discussions on important topics that will help shape the future of the district. All community members are welcome, including faculty/staff, students, families, and other stakeholders.

Four important topics will be discussed during the community-wide event:

  • Middle School model (6th grade students moving to the Jr.-Sr. High School)
  • NYSED’s “Portrait of a Graduate” model (new graduation requirements)
  • Cell phones and other personal electronic devices in school
  • Updating DCS Code of Conduct

Participants will be able to choose two of the four topics that are of most interest to them. Each roundtable will be led by one administrator and one BOE member, with the opportunity for healthy discussion and an exchange of ideas. Findings from the four roundtable discussions will be condensed and shared with the community later that week.

There is no need to pre-register or RSVP, but we ask that anyone interested in attending fill out this online interest form by Wednesday, March 19 so we can make sure to have adequate space and resources available for the event.

“This will be a great opportunity for our community to not only learn about these four important topics, but to share their thoughts, concerns and opinions as we move forward on several different initiatives at DCS,” Superintendent of Schools Kimberly Ross said. “I want our community to feel informed on the ever-changing educational landscape, and to have a shared vision for our students that we can all work together to realize.”
