Duanesburg Central School District is looking for full and part-time school bus drivers for the 2023-24 school year. Join us for a School Bus Driver Job Fair from 8-11:00 a.m. on Saturday, May 20 where you will have the chance to get behind the wheel of a DCS school bus and actually drive it around the brand new bus loop at Duanesburg Elementary School.
DCS Transportation Supervisor Tom Gordon will be on hand to answer questions about the job to those who are interested in applying. “There are a lot of great perks to being a school bus driver,” Gordon said. “Our full-time drivers are eligible to receive health benefits — including vision and dental — have paid vacation time and are enrolled in the NY state retirement system.”
Bus drivers at DCS start at $20 per hour. Gordon explained that bus drivers follow the school calendar, which means that they have summers off, but also have the ability to work additional hours by transporting students to athletic events and field trips.
In order to drive a bus for the school district, applicants must be at least 21 years old, with a CDL license with P & S Endorsements. Training assistance is provided to anyone without a CDL license.
Participants at the School Bus Driver Job Fair will be able to fill out an application on-site, with the opportunity to speak to hiring managers for an initial interview.
