Certified teaching assistants start at $18/hour. (minimum of an associate’s degree). Teacher aides start at $15.20/hour (minimum of a high school diploma).

The Duanesburg Central School District is interested in building a network of in-person tutors who can support students who are temporarily out of school for one of several reasons. Currently, the district is seeking a tutor for one middle school student awaiting a special education placement. The district rate for tutors is $36.50/hr.

SECRETARY TO THE SUPERINTENDENT & BOARD CLERK – * Management Confidential * (Anticipated Opening)
Overview: The Secretary to the Superintendent and Board Clerk provides essential administrative support to the Superintendent of Schools and the Assistant Superintendent of Schools. They will also serve as the official recorder and custodian of records for the Board of Education. This role demands exceptional organizational skills, confidentiality, and the ability to manage complex administrative tasks. The individual in this position ensures smooth communication and coordination between the Superintendent, Board members, and the wider school community.
Qualifications:
– Experience: Minimum two years experience in an administrative or secretarial role, preferably within an educational setting. Experience with Board of Education procedures and protocols is a plus.
– Education: High school diploma or equivalent; additional education or certification in office administration or a related field preferred.
Key Responsibilities:
- Administrative Support: Provide high-level administrative support to the Superintendent, Assistant Superintendent, managing calendars, scheduling appointments, and handling correspondence. Prepare and organize documents, reports, and presentations.
- Board Support: Prepare agendas, minutes, and other documentation for Board meetings. Ensure accurate recording and maintenance of all Board proceedings and official actions.
- Communication Liaison: Act as a primary point of contact between the Superintendent, Board members, staff, parents, and the community. Handle inquiries and correspondence with professionalism and confidentiality.
- Meeting Coordination: Plan, coordinate, and attend meetings as required. Facilitate communication and follow-up actions between the Superintendent and Board members.
- Record Management: Maintain accurate and organized records, files, and databases for both the Superintendent’s office and the Board of Education. Ensure compliance with district policies and legal regulations.
- Confidentiality: Handle sensitive information with the highest level of discretion and confidentiality. Maintain confidential records, files, and documents, ensuring compliance with district policies and legal requirements.
- Problem Solving: Exercise independent judgment in responding to unexpected situations and solving complex problems.
- Office Management: Oversee the daily operations of the Superintendent’s office, including supplies and equipment maintenance.
- Special Projects: Assist with special projects and initiatives as assigned by the Superintendent or Board members.
Board Clerk Responsibilities:
- Board Meeting Support: Schedule and coordinate regular and special Board meetings, ensuring that all meeting agendas, notices, and materials are distributed in advance. Attend Board meetings to take detailed minutes, documenting decisions, motions, and outcomes.
- Documentation and Recordkeeping: Prepare and maintain accurate, legally compliant records of Board proceedings, resolutions, and votes. Ensure that meeting minutes are transcribed, reviewed, and approved promptly.
- Compliance and Governance: Ensure that all activities of the Board comply with state and federal laws, regulations, and policies. Maintain an up-to-date record of Board policies, procedures, and other relevant documents.
- Communication Liaison: Serve as the primary point of contact for Board members, district administrators, and the public regarding Board-related matters. Respond to inquiries and provide information on Board policies and procedures.
- Board Member Support: Assist Board members with accessing necessary information, materials, and resources in preparation for meetings and decision-making processes. Track Board member terms, appointments, and attendance.
- Election and Appointment Support: Assist in organizing and overseeing Board member elections and appointments, ensuring that all legal and procedural requirements are met.
- Public Relations and Outreach: Ensure that Board decisions, meeting outcomes, and other relevant information are communicated effectively to the public, both through official channels and media outlets as required.
- Miscellaneous Administrative Support: Provide general clerical support to the Board of Education, including preparing reports, managing documents, and handling correspondence.
Key Skills:
- Exceptional organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills. Proficiency in Google Office Suite and other relevant software. Ability to multitask, prioritize, and work independently.

AUTOMOTIVE MECHANIC/SCHOOL BUS DRIVER (FULL-TIME/12 MONTHS)
- Starting Base: $45,000 – $50,000
- Training as needed. Experience desired.
- Makes repairs to buses, trucks and other equipment and regularly drives a school bus either for a daily route or as needed.

- Assist students with getting on and off the bus as needed
- Discipline children as needed to maintain a safe environment
- Perform required inspections of the bus before and after each route
- Attend safety meetings as required
